Well we are nearly at the end of July and we have had a great month for sales and renewals, the Team have worked really hard and have done themselves proud again. We always work hard at our renewals and our new business is up on last year.

Without giving the game away we have an exciting new idea mooted around the office for our existing client base, we are very excited by it and hope you will be too.

We have had an excellent conversion month on Landlords Insurance so far, the addition of Novae to our panel has certainly benefitted us 9and them of course!).

You may also note that one of our Insurers has changed names, IGI has changed it’s Legal Entity to AmTrust Europe but not to panic, they are the same people and the cover has some significant additions which we can talk you through. They are also part of the Manhattan based Amtrust Financial Services and are listed on the US NASDAQ. In Europe they have an A- Financial rating and are regulated by the Financial Services Authority.

We had a very productive meeting with one of our leading providers last evening and a very interesting exchange of views which we hope will lead to even better deals for you on your Landlords Insurance. I also has a very nice email of praise from a customer of ours currently living in Luxembourg who urgently needed Landlords Cover and I am delighted to say were provided the type of cover required at a premium significantly cheaper than a certain high street bank! The client was very impressed with the speed of our service as we quotes, placed on cover and had document with her abroad in under 30 minutes.

Well as you have heard Cover4letproperty is back on Money Supermarket and so far conversion is going smoothly, and this is a relief to know our rates and systems are up there with the best.

Please remember however, that we are always available on the phone if you wish to ask any questions or if you have had a more competitive quote elsewhere. That’s the benefit of being not just an internet based company but also to have a presence on the phone with our experienced staff.  So far we are on course to break our best ever monthly figures so that can’t be bad!

It appears that not only us mere mortals are involved in the landlords insurance market but we are also joined by the great and the good from the world of showbusiness, although it may cost a bit more! Ever wondered what it might be like to stay at Sir Richard Branson’s let property, or perhaps even Rolling Stone Mick Jagger? Well it appears that the economic climate has encouraged these and other stars to jump on the bandwagon, and who knows who does their landlords insurance or what their premiums are like. Of course the risk is very much different, as landlords insurance will look at the potential for claims during wild parties and such like, with footballers and their WAGS involved in lettings. Some Landlords actually prefer footballers as todays modern players are much more disciplined and the Club’s are very anti parties etc. Still as we say in insurance, their is a market for everything!

This particular subject matter is very contentious, in fact we deal wih over 10 insurers for let property and some of our panel will honour the claim and some will not.

Why?

The reasons vary based upon the individual insurers contract and their own experiences, but cannabis factories is a relatively new problem and these cases are still being tested in the courts, if your property was damaged by fire from the heating used to cultivate your tenants cannabis farm how would you feel?

What I would like to know from you is: -

Did you have any idea this eventuality may not be covered?

Would you expect this eventuality to be covered?

Should the property not have been visited by you or your manageing agent?

Well yesterday was a record day for Cover4letproperty, we did more cases than we have ever done in one session which is a good sign for our rates in this very difficult sector. I have always been a broker in my 10 years in the business and for me it’s an exciting challenge to fit your customers profile with the appropriate cover as it not all about cost. If your property burns down you need to know that your landlords insurance gives you the correct coverage, for example many clients may have the incorrect sums insured as they confuse market value for the full rebuilding cost.

Not to  bore you all but I do like to push the importance of being a broker to people as I feel that you get a wider feel of the market place and the enjoyment of giving your client advice. I was also very pleased to get an email form a very happy client whose claim was settled in very difficult circumstances and to be honest, this for me is one of the great rewards of broking, of being there when people need it.

Anyway, I’m boring myself now so i’m off!
