New Proposals To Assist Scottish Landlords
Monday, February 6th, 2012Dear All
Scottish landlords will soon be able to take into account anti social behaviour when allocating tenancies under dramatic new proposals to be put before Scotland’s Government.
The wide reaching proposals could mean councils and housing associations could be given powers to decline tenancies or effect “probationary periods” of up to 1 year before full tenancy status is approved.
The consultation process includes powers to evict problem tenants so that landlords suffer the minimum amount of dissatisfaction possible. The government are under pressure to assist suffering landlords and tenants and Westminster is awaiting the results of the moves to see if the proposals work in England.
